Youth Leadership Grant Launched by YAT

A grant scheme for projects which aim to develop young leaders has been launched by the Youth Advisory Team, a committee of young lay Salesians whose task it is to advice the provincial of Great Britain. The newly launched schemes’ first round of applications can be made up until the 3rd November for small grants up to £400. Applications are invited from organisations working on projects which foster leadership skills of an individual or a group of young people.

The Youth Advisory Team (YAT) was set up two years ago to give young adults direct access to the provincial, and the provincial direct access to young adults; it is the only project of its kind within the whole Salesian community. Chris Knowles, YAT Chair believes that “the ability to offer this grant, and to benefit the projects we feel are most worthwhile comes as a great opportunity for YAT. That we can now contribute in a much more direct and practical way to youth ministry in the country is a significant stage in the development of YAT”.
